Moderate ploughing is essential to maintain soil microbiological activity.
Part of our vineyard extends around the village of Chavignol, where deforestation is prohibited in order to encourage biodiversity.
Walking along the paths in Chavignol, pretty spring flowers indicate that we are entering an area of limestone rock, a Natura 2000 listed area, particularly rich in wild orchids (Orchis-Militaris).
Bees are largely responsible for pollinating the plant world. They therefore play a very important role in the vineyard's biodiversity. As their presence is the guarantee of a healthy environment, our estate sponsors their work tool: their beehives located at the very heart of the Sancerre vineyards.
As a thank you, the beehives donate some of their honey.
